Cannon Johnston Architecture Inc. was retained as the Design Architect and Sport Architect for the Ipsco Place Revitalization Project (now the Cooperators Centre). When completed in late 2009, this facility included five sheets of NHL size community rinks and one 1,200 seat NHL size spectator rink. The facility is connected to the existing 5,000 seat Brandt Centre, home of the Regina Pats junior hockey team, and is used by the Regina Pats and the University of Regina men’s and women’s teams as their training centre.

As well as the six ice sheets, this facility has two fitness centres, retail space, concessions and a restaurant.  The new arena addition was planned around a two storey circulation space affording views into the new rinks and into the existing soccer centre. This multi-use arena complex is also used as convention space, entertainment space, cultural events and for agricultural exhibitions. The new north entrance provides a new entrance for the overall Ipsco Place complex. The project was fast-tracked, and ground breaking was April 15, 2008 and opened for community hockey in December 2009.   The Construction Cost for the project was $53.0 million, which placed the project on-budget.
