This $28 million, 140,000 sq. ft. world-class facility, includes a triple gymnasium, sport medicine facilities, a sport science centre, fitness and wellness facilities, foodservice, a lighted outdoor artificial all-weather turf field, and a new trails system.  It is home to a number of highly integrated programs encompassing sports, recreation, health, wellness, education, and sport-related research, as well as the Centre for Camosun Sport Education, which offers a sport leadership and coaching diploma, degree programs, and continuing-education courses.

The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) opened in 2009 as the first summer sport institute in Canada and is an independent not-for-profit organization located on the Camosun College Interurban campus in Victoria, British Columbia. The Institute brings together excellence in community sport and active healthy living development, sport and exercise education, sport technology research, and world-class athlete performance services. PISE, in collaboration with its partners the Canadian Sport Institute and Camosun College, serves the community, students, high performance athletes and coaches from across the region, province and country to provide world-class training, education, testing, and applied research and innovation services together within a state of the art facility.

PISE plays a lead role managing Commonwealth Legacy funding support and services for high performance athletes and sport in the CRD through the development and maintenance of world-class facilities and training environments. To achieve this role PISE works in close partnership with Canadian Sport Institute and with national team sports training in the CRD through a High Performance Advisory Group.

The Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence is designed to a LEED® Gold environmental standard.
